Runkle School Site Council
The Runkle School Site Council was formed following the passage of a 1993 law requiring every public elementary, secondary, and independent vocational school in Massachusetts to establish a School Council.
The Runkle School Site Council meets on the last Wednesday of every month from 4:15–5:30 p.m.
Responsibilities
The School Site Council duties include:
- Assisting in the identification of students’ educational needs
- Making recommendations to the principal regarding the development, implementation, and assessment of the curriculum accommodation plan required by state guidelines
- Assisting in the formulation of the School Improvement Plan
- Reviewing the annual school budget

School Council members include parents, teachers, the school principal, and a community member. The council is co-chaired by the school principal and a parent representative.
